Body Shop Management System Symposium results in break-through for Collision Repairers
St. Louis, MO, Tuesday, May 15, 2007
The meeting addressed the need to standardize repair status, target date change reasons and event date information currently being captured in Body Shop Management systems. The group focused on the need to begin with standardizing target date change reasons currently being provided to insurers through Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s ARMS® system automatically from the repairer’s body shop management system.
As a result of the group’s effort, sixteen CIECA compliant target date change reasons were agreed to and even more impressive is the agreement to incorporate these reason codes directly into the shop management systems.
Said Doug Kelly, president & COO for CynCast: “We knew that with the growing interest from insurers and consumers in accessing status information and specifically target date change reasons that repairers would be faced with an even greater challenge unless standards were in place. Our goal of organizing this meeting was simple – allow Collision Repairers to manage their business inside the body shop management system and provide information to those who need seamlessly through integration
Dave Smith, VP technology solutions for Enterprise, added “The positive response we received during the event and the vendors’ willingness to implement important changes into their products is outstanding news for repairers and insurers alike”, Enterprise anticipates implementing the sixteen target date change reasons in their ARMS® Automotive product by August 2007.
The Enterprise ARMS® system is currently in use with over 6,000 collision repair shops and with forty-nine of the top fifty insurers in the U.S.
